Over the Knee: How to Kick It Up A Knotch

Thanks in part to Balenciaga’s cult electric blue knife blade boot and Kendall Jenner's slouchy sweater and boot combo, thigh-highs are super on-trend. Everyone’s wearing them, so make sure your style statement isn’t going to be a flop this winter by making your thigh-highs work just a little harder.

  1. Head-To-Toe Colour: Wear thigh-high boots that match the colour of the rest of your outfit, extending the colour top to bottom for a real power punch. All red is a great way to make a statement, while soft lilacs or violets are perfect for a more “of the moment” look.

  2. Embellishment: Sure, those suede black boots are chic and go with everything, but let your boots really stand out with embellishment, textures and colour. Think touchable velvets, embroidery, and shine.

  3. Oversized On Top: Billowing and out-of-proportion silhouettes look great balanced out against the straight up and down of thigh highs. Look for fabrics that move well when you walk.
